HR Manager - Value Added Plants

This is a key position that provides Human Resource Business Partner support and organizational development activities for the St. Clair plant (Eaton, OH) as well as the Tryon Peak plant (Columbus, NC). This position is also responsible for all staffing activities for the plants which can be a large portion of the responsibility at times.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Serve as an integral member and partner of the plant/functional leadership teams. Consult with the leadership teams in the development and execution of HR strategy for the plant(s).
  2. Provide transactional and strategic HR generalist support for the plants(s):
    • Provide direction and council on compensation, job descriptions, job titles, internal employee movement, and other HR policies and procedures.
    • Develop recruiting and retention strategies for key roles and execute staffing activities including screening resumes and applications, testing, scheduling physicals, processing of paperwork, and new hire orientation.
    • Management of contingent staffing agency and process.
    • Drive performance management and talent management processes across plants(s).
    • Maintain positive employee relations within plant(s) including conducting investigations related to Help Line or other complaints or issues raised by employees.
    • Assess the need for and deliver organization effectiveness initiatives.
    • Drive and communicate the plant(s) EEO demographics, identify gaps in affirmative action plan (diversity of talent, gender, and skills, etc.) and work with corporate HR resources to develop plans to close any gaps.
    • Provide transactional HR leadership by completing pay, position, promotional, roster creation, organizational charts, and other transactions in SuccessFactors (HRIS).
  3. Direct the design and execution of organization development activities for the plant(s). Lead the execution of talent management processes, including talent assessment and ranking, development planning, succession planning, mentoring, organization design, culture change management initiatives, and team building. Help to align the team on strategy and business processes.
  4. Assist in the development of communications necessary to drive organizational alignment and effectiveness and to facilitate human resource policies and processes.
  5. Provide guidance and direction in managing performance and discipline. Communicate HR policies and procedures to leaders/managers and counsel managers on addressing employee relations issues.
  6. Support the completion of strategic enterprise-wide HR projects, such as succession and workforce planning.
  7. Ensure group(s) achieves all HR related deadlines.
  8. Manage short term disability and FMLA leaves and participate in reviews of ADA accommodations.
  9. Work with plant management to determine specific training requirements for all employees (operatives and staff). Coordinate development and delivery of all internal and external training programs for the plant. Maintain all training records as necessary.
  10. Represent the company in various community groups including the local Workforce Development Committee.

 

Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field with 7 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree in human resources, business, or related field with 5 years of relevant experience.

 

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field with 10 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree in human resources, business, or related field with 7 years of relevant experience.
